Typewriter Twenty Two : June ’16

Introduction.

Well, yes. If you’ve been reading my blog, you already know how much I love the typewriter, and how fascinated I am with it.

Since not many people have used the typewriter, or even seen one, I’m going to start a monthly post about my typewriter and write about the little novelties and quirks I discover as I start using it. At times, I’d also like to share something I just can’t figure out or something I wrote, or somebody I wrote for.

As a challenge to myself, I’ve decided to go 100% old school and I refuse to use take help from videos or tutorials of any kind. Let’s see how far this takes me!

Herein, lies the irony. Yes, this is my first Typewriter Twenty Two post, ever, and this is the first time I’ve been away from the typewriter for this long after I’ve got it. I just moved to Hyderabad, and I can’t wait till it gets shipped here! And, I thought this would be the perfect month to introduce this monthly post.

Why the name? Well, firstly, I love the sound of an alliteration! It just makes things so much more poetic. Secondly, I had thought about making it a weekly feature, but I’d like to focus on varied content and I don’t want to set targets I might not be able to meet. Thirdly, and unrelated-ly (is that even a word?), I was twenty two when I got it!

So, you know where you’ve got to be when the calendar reads twenty-two every month.
